Roof is a voluntary organization focusing on the rights and needs of Children with SPECIAL NEEDS and their caretakers. This organization has a great focus on the psychological, physical, medical and educational needs of vulnerable children with special needs; and employs quality and timely services governed by men and women of high integrity.

The primary objective of this project is to ensure “A supportive community for families with special needs”.

Roof was founded in April 2011 by Norah Faith Behumbiza and 15 other colleagues. She used to work as a counselor and social worker and would come across children with special needs from less privileged backgrounds whose parents died of HIV/AIDS and others living in abject poverty thus unable to afford the medical attention these children need.

Our Programmes
Special needs child care and support

Roof focuses on children who primarily come from under privileged backgrounds and offers psychological, physical, medical and educational support.

Income generating /self help projects

Roof appreciated that cases are from needy families, we recognize that we cannot afford to solicit funds for their daily up keep.

Character building

We realize that the mind set of children will special needs is shaped by the communities they come from majority of whom are negative towards these children.

Our Children

Five month old Bridget

Special child Bridget, a five months girl with an imperforated case joined the struggle for assistance for an operation in Mulago hospital, however facilitation still remains a problem.

We are calling for sponsorship to see how she can be helped.
